About

Based in the heart of Victoria, Central Dietetics provides practical nutrition and dietary advice for you, your family and your loved ones. We see people of all ages with a range of issues.  We will work with you towards your own nutrition goals, respecting your individual home and family situations, and finding solutions that suit you.

The clinics are in Bendigo and Heathcote, and we also provide a service to the local community in Kyneton, Castlemaine, Kilmore, Elmore, Nagambie and surrounds. We may be able to come to your home (travel fees apply). 

Telehealth can be an easy and effective way to connect from the comfort of your own home. If you're new to this, don't worry, we can talk you through how to get started.

Jo is an experienced dietitian who has worked for over thirty years supporting people in the community with a range of nutrition concerns. Jo enjoys supporting people across the lifespan, from babies to adults to older people, including working with people with disabilities.

Costs and funding


The service is available for Self-Managed and Plan-Managed NDIS Plans with funding in Improved Daily Living or Improved Health and Wellbeing.
Costs:
  • Initial Assessment (60 min*) - $193.99
  • Review appointment (45 min*) - $145.49
  • Review Appointment (30 min*) - $97.00
  • Report Writing - $193.99/hour (usually 2 hours)
  • Assistive Technology applications for nutrition support products - $193.99/hour (usually 2 hours)
  • Travel for home visits (by negotiation) $193.99/hour
  • Short notice cancellations (less than 24 hours) charged at 100% 
An invoice will be emailed to you or your Plan Manager after the session. Payments are expected within 14 days.

*Appointment timing may include a few minutes for documentation.
Medicare provides rebates for Dietetics under a GP Chronic Disease Management referral called a GP Management Plan or Team Care Arrangement or EPC.
Medicare Rebate - $58.30 per session
Up to 5 sessions in a calendar year
Costs:
  • Initial Assessment (1 hour) - $160 (gap $101.70)
  • Review (30 mins) - $80 (gap $21.70)
  • Travel for home visits - $120/hour (no rebate)
Payments are expected on the day of the appointment. 
We are unable to process a Medicare rebate on the day. You will be provided with a receipt to claim the Medicare rebate online or at a Medicare office.   
Costs:
  • Initial Assessment (1 hour) - $160
  • Review (30 mins) - $80
  • Travel for home visits - $120/hour
Payment is expected on the day of the appointment. 
Some private health covers have rebates for a portion of dietitian consultations. Speak to your insurer for more information.

Full payment is expected on the day of the appointment. You will be provided with a receipt to take to your private insurance provider. 
Health Care Card holder or Pension costs:
  • Initial Assessment (1 hour) - $140
  • Review (30 mins) - $75
  • Travel for home visits - $100/hour
Payment is expected on the day of the appointment.

Medicare provides rebates for Dietetics under a GP Chronic Disease Management referral called a GP Management Plan or Team Care Arrangement or EPC. Medicare Rebate - $58.30 per session. Up to 5 sessions in a calendar year.
e.g. a 30 minute session with a GP Care Plan and a Health Care Card will have a $16.70 out of pocket fee. 
You may be able to pay for Dietitian services from your Home Care Package. Ask your provider for more information.

Home visits are available for people on a Home Care Package.
